ok heres the long, I have this really awesome enclosure, violet with a thin copper plate glues to the top that has been fired, anyways the original circuit I built for it didnt work. tried everthing I cold to debug for about a month and then ditched it. So three more different circuits come and go. Im starting to think this enclosure is jinxed. So Ived want to put a flourescent fuzz in the box but its drilled to two controls, a fuzz control would be useless as I would ahve it on 10 all the time. I want to put a toggle switch inplace of it and a a cap to ground at the input, as I heard it will tame some of the harshness.......so what would be a good valued cap that would really make a difference to were yolu could really notice it with the toggle switched, something even someone who didnt play music would take note of.

thanks sands

Yeah I know I should experiment, but I dont have a proto board and am getting to the point were I want to throw away this box.
put it together, now take it apart

Stick a cap to ground? I think it would be more effective to put a 220pF capacitor across the base and collector of Q1.

Make a toggle to switch the input cap for something larger like 2.2uF, maybe.

I'd second putting in two alternative input caps
