Boom! It's together and working again. I had to rewire the thing twice though. :/. Anyway, I think it was the wire I was using. I'm sure a part came uncovered and was shorting somehow. Well, the pedal works well and sounds good, but it has a slightly crackle that is almost audible all the time. It crackles when I'm not even playing.

Fixed it up a bit. I think my pots might be dirty. All in all, this bad boy is fixed and done. I'll post a sound clip and some pics when it gets painted up. I'm still open to suggestions on how to fix the slight crackle.

first, start with the basics- check your amp, cables, and guitar.  If those check out ok, make an audio probe (directions are on here).  Start with the audio probe on the tip of the input jack, and listen for crackles.  Touch every point down the line from the beginning of the signal chain to the end until you find the crackle.  This is the only way to find it.

Okay. Well, I did that. Pretty nifty, I didn't even know anything like that existed  :icon_biggrin:. I wish I would have known that earlier. Anywho, I determined that the crack definitely occurs within the part of the circuit that leads up to the tone pot. I can't find any crackle anywhere else.
