hope you guys can see this. i can never get it right

Cardboard Tube Samurai

The second picture is too small.

Darn it. Cardboard Tube Samurai beat me to it.

clamup1

i was afraid of that. can i email it to you?

photobucket used to offer 4 or 5 different sizes you could pick. i dont know what happened to those options.

thanks Jhouse. ill etch a board and see if it works. i perfed one and it didnt work. i might try debugging it.

Can't see the tiny picture, but what you've done a layout for is a Fuzz Face with a blendable input cap, if that's what it's supposed to be then I think you're good to go :D

clamup1

i couldnt tell you what its supposed to be. i found it on another diy website. the youtube vid for it sounded cool. supposedly it was used on the first couple Zepplin albums. i have germ npn trannies but theyre switching trannies. i used them on the perf and it didnt work. i dont know if its something i did or there not supposed to be used in this way. my wife has put a veto on anymore parts spending for right now so im gonna have to wait.

heres the link for it

So I just read some stuff that Mark (IvIark) wrote. He is redoing the layout that you have because it was unverified. He says that he recently got a verified schematic and he is redoing the layout. HERE's what I read. I'll see if I can't get the schematic off of him.

clamup1

well that would explain alot lol. thanks jhouse

IvIark

Here's the schematic, I've been doing other things and so haven't had chance to update the layouts yet.

So Vox Tonebender with a blendable input cap. Should be able to build that using pretty much any Fuzz Face PCB.

Well, my chemistry class got canceled today so I threw these together. Sorry they aren't the best/most efficient. I was bored, but I still need to get some homework done. I have no idea what the transistors are to tell you the truth.

jhouse i made a pcb also. but ill take yours over mine lol. thanks

i would love to know how you guys know how to trace all this out. i trace it almost exactly like the schem

Jhouse

I  usually start at the beginning of the schematic's input and go from there. I usually end up changing a lot of things while I'm doing the layout though to make it smaller.

clamup1

thats what i do only it turns out as long as the schem. i guess i need more practice

Dang it. I screwed up on that last layout. I put 2 C4's and messed up 1 trace that would throw the whole pedal off.  :icon_rolleyes: Oh well. Here's a new layout. I hope you didn't etch the board yet.

Also, on this one R3 should be 1m. Man I didn't check this at all.  :-[

clamup1

yeah i kinda did. oh well. i did notice the 10m, good thing i looked at the schem. thanks for doing this for me
