Came across this on the interwebs while researching the FV-1:

My question is.... Does this board need any external circuitry or could it be wired directly into an enclosure for an 8 in 1 effect? I see in the datasheet that they have some circuits drawn up however, I cannot tell if they are already incorporated into the board.

Basically, could I just drop this into an enclosure and go OR does it need other components to work?

Looks to me like they have in and out buffers and everything. Should be usable pretty much as is, but you might try emailing them to confirm. Frank is very helpful and knowledgeable.

There are no buffers on the SKRM-C8 boards. Since they are used in many different apps and people may like a different buffering method (i.e. FET instead of opamp) and need to adjust gains to amplify/limit the max signal to 3Vp-p we left buffers off of them. So depending on application you may or may not need to add a buffer. For a guitar you will want to buffer it. The schematic in the pdf is an example of how to use the module, not of the module.
