Echo from an old floppy drive

This is interesting. Seems like you could make a cool DIY Echoplex or Echorec from something like this. There are literally millions of old floppy drives sitting in old computers gathering dust somewhere. You don't even have to look hard for one. Forget the problems of the echoplex and the tapes. If a floppy starts sounding bad, replace it. Couple it with the jfet front end of the Echoplex.... somebody can take this idea and run with it.

This idea is not new. It was posted here only a few months ago and before several times. This is the first time that I see it work well ;D.

What do you mean your girlfriend built you a space echo from 1992? ;D

My bad, I don't check this site as frequently as I should. In the video they even mention using a hard drive, that's probably for the audiophiles.
But seriously, a floppy drive seems like a cheap, easy and robust way to get that magnetic read/write delay.

Cheap indeed but it only has half a second per rotation. She uses more tracks to go to 15 seconds but that makes it much more difficult for a continuous delay. So you would have to sweep the head back and forth.
