  Looks like this is one with 555 and a few bits.

  Perhaps with sufficient PS voltage, the modulation input can be made to cause Pin 3 to drive 1 LED + and one LED -.
  It can be oriented inches and 1 ground plane away from audio wires of no great sensativity...to preface the question: should I even bother with this kind of timer, or should I get and LFO to sweep the LED's as a way to prevent 555-spike to signal ratio.
  Back to simple 2-LED: One at a time programming.
