Whammy is AC powered. Is there any reason (apart from that you can't burn it by switching polarity) for powering pedals from AC power source?

- You can make sure that the pedal is properly regulated with the voltage it needs
- The wall warts are cheaper
- It's easier to set up a bipolar supply
- It's easier to set up a voltage multiplier

In short, it's easier to makes sure your pedal gets what it needs without the end user blowing it up.

How many burnt out pedals are there in the world due to those whammy supplies?

Here's a thing: yamaha magicstomp. Give it DC and the processor, LED etc work but you get no audio because the op-amps are supposed to be on bipolar supplies!

Is that Digitech's problem?  ;)
I meant easier for the company making the pedal. Of course, the main issue will always be that thing between the strap and the guitar.
