I know this may be a long shot but does anyone know where to buy tube sockets in ireland?

I'd rather not have to wait a couple of weeks and pay the postage from Banzai...

I have a vague recollection of Radionics in Rialto having them. If not, i got 12 of them on ebay for about €2.

Yeah, it looks like they only have 8-pin though, I need 9. I might give them a bell anyway just to check I haven't missed them somewhere on the site  :icon_rolleyes:

did you try farnell? I think they deliver pretty quick, but i suspect they also have a minumum order requirement.

actually, there's a little guitar repair shop near exchequer street (cant remember the name of it, it's sortof opposite music maker, and in the direction of guitar centre. It's upstairs, called something like guitar fx or something) that have a load of random bits and pieces.

Ha, I'm trawling through farnell as we speak! It's tough going and it's not looking successful. Failing this I might give yer man on Exch. St. a bell.

you could always try xmusic. they dont have sockets, but they'd probably know someone who does.

I've discovered that a friend of a friend is an artist who uses a lot of old tubes in his work. Apparently he still has a big box of circuit boards which he got the tubes off so I'm going to try to see what he's got this weekend. It could be a goldmine!

Just an update to those who have to do this after me; Radionics do not stock a 9-pin valve tube base in Ireland but they do in the UK so if you ring the sales team up they'll send them over for you for €3.60 a pair!
