Dead-on replacements for BC547/BC557?

Does anybody have an idea.
I did the NTE as usual but I would like a really close sub if possible.

I am not familiar with this part, but Olaf at Banzai effects has both BC547/557 A, B and C types. He is great to deal with.

Hi Aharon,

BC547 is NPN and the BC557 is PNP

There are A, B and C versions, A is low Hfe and C is High Hfe.

They are generic audio tranny's so 2N3904/2N3906 or the low-noise  2N5088/2N5087 are good replacements.

If you need BC547C you can better use the 2N5089.

To my knowledge there is no C type of the BC547/557 - only A and B.
So 2n3904/6 shoulb be fine - but check the pinout - I am not sure about that.

are these valuable or something,,   i have a small handf ull o bc548 547 and some other numbers that i yanked out of an old tv.. they work nicely, as i built a booster with one of them

I don't think they are any more valuable than 2N3904/6.I just wanted to be sure if I sub them I use the correct part.
