Help Finding 1.5 uh Inductor

I made this copy of a schematic I found somewhere on the web for a passive midrange control for guitar. It looks exactly what Rothstien Guitars is selling for $40. Thing is, I can't find the inductor anywhere. The only place I could find one is Mouser, but as usual, I got overwhelmed with selection. Any help is appreciated

I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be 1.5H, like in a varitone. A 1.5uH inductor wouldn't do much for guitar frequencies. I don't know where you could get one of those, but you could always string three 42tm013 primaries in series.

I think it's 1.5H, according to this:  http://music-electronics-forum.com/t20252/

This caught my eye as I've been looking for something like this for my Strat.  Thanks!

...pretty large though...

Well, the primaries of most small 1k:8 transformers are around 0.5H, so, assuming that the construction is approximately the same for all of those transformers, you'd want one with 9x the windings (inductance is proportional to number of windings squared). So none of the transformers in that series would work. You could message the guy at the music-electronics forum and ask which one he used.

Mouser has 'em - I'll post up a pic and part number in a minute.

This mod is like the old Torres "midrange" control. I have one in my strat.

Okay so I'm stumped:  Where do you find the H value(s) in these pages and datasheets without doing the math?

My bad - looks like you actually want the 42TL022 @ 1.5

@CynicalMan

Don't you mean inductance is proportional to the number of windings and transformed impedance proportional to the square of the number of windings?

So 9k:8 for 3x the windings ratio and primary inductance compared to a 1k:8 tranny?

Maybe I'm overlooking something.

I'm just looking at the inductance of the primary. Inductance can be calculated by:

Where:
    L=inductance
    N=Number of turns
    A=cross sectional area of core in square centimeters
    u(Mu)=permeability of core (Air=1; Iron~1000)
    u0 (mu subzero)= Absolute permeability of air (1.26*10^-12)
    l=length of coil in centimeters

I was looking at numbers of turns here:

I used the 42TL021 in my Strat and it worked fine.

I have 3 extra if you want to work out a trade.

Well heck Steve......

If you're gonna start carrying inductors.......

42TM011/42TM022 for Octavias.....

I'm just sayin'  ;)

If you need a list of odd stuff to stock.....well.......just ask...... ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

I used to teach this stuff only a few years ago. Funny how fast I forget formulas ::). I should have remembered the larger picture of 'inductance is the number of windings squared', but I didn't ;D.

partsexpress has these kind of inductors too, i bought some for a project a couple years ago, and never used them.
