Hello,

I just built the Insanity Box and it works so far, but I've still got some problems. I can't get it biased correctly.
When I play a note and hold it, it doesn't sustain away, but kinda breaks up after a few seconds. Also when this happens or after muting a note the normal amp-noise goes completely away for a few seconds. I use a 50K Trimmer as the bias control and I put a 2 Meg resistor before it (I don't know the right value, but there's no one given on the schematic). I also tried a 1M and a 500K resistor instead of the 2M resistor, but I don't get it biased correctly. When I turn the trimmer all the way to the V+ connection I get a pretty weak distortion and when I turn it to the Ground connection I get the gating effect. And when I turn the trimmer about halfway there's a really massive noise and a huge hum when I turn up the volume pot on my guitar.
I know that the voltage after the cmos section must be about 4.5 Volts, but that doesn't help.
Would it help anything if I put a resistor between the bias trim and V+? It's difficult to test it, because I already soldered everything on a PCB board.

I hope you can give me a hint.

take the resistor out is my best guess. i finally figured out what you were talking about on the schem, and i reckon it was just a mix up with symbols.

thats just my response, but its arons and jacks pedal, and theyd probly know better.
