I need a momentary normally-closed (NC) SPST switch.  That would be closed when not pressed.   It's for a pedal that has the guts of a toy adapted to it, where the switch would normally have been the trigger.  Need it to scroll through the sounds.

I really like how this looks, but they're very cheap plastic, and it's not NC anyway...   http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4SPBS-SPST-M-CH-p/800-1012.htm

I love this one, but it's NO   http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=672

Is this my guy?  And if so, does anyone have another source besides Mouser? (Some company that's more related to us builders)   http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Carling-Technologies/P26L-1D-RND-MTL/?qs=Bt9msQOSEdgUjpNh50Ur6w%3d%3d

Alpha make some compact, reliable footswitches perfect for this kind of thing; they're DPDT, so can be NO or NC depending on what you want.

I expect steve stocks them.

Hmm, you mean this one?  http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=25

That may work.  Is one side NO and the other NC?

Okay thank you HHE.  So I'll just wire it up to the 3rd set of lugs.  Great price but I've never ordered from Rapid.  Maybe I will this time.

I may go with this then if I can't find a pedal-site source.   http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Alpha-Taiwan/SF12020F-0202-20R-M-011/?qs=yA6kp8fx8Y500tzc%2fV6ruA%3d%3d

I wonder if this is the same one.  That $20 shipping from Mouser, OY!  I'll have to call Mammoth.  I like their stuff so far.

Funny that you say this. I made an order over a month ago and still have not gotten it. I have emailed them 2 times today and still no reply  :icon_mad:

Possibilities:

If you want a stomp switch, this one:
http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=27
can be wired NO or NC.

I also have these tactile switches:
http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=1020

and you can combine them with just a plastic button:
http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=1060
if that will do, or a metal actuator:

Y'know I thought I saw that Steve, about being NO or NC depending on wiring.  I had linked to it and it wasn't on the page, it's on page 2 of the switch list though.  I was starting to think I was going nuts!

Thank you sir!!!!

The radioshacks by me sell both N.O. and N.C. momentary switches in a variety of sizes. I've used them and continue to use them in lots of projects, but I'd stay away from the smaller sized ones if you plan on using it with your foot.

Well I'll be darned.  I just happened to be walking through Ace Hardware figured I'd look at the switches just for giggles.  I found a very good switch, SPST NC, that was perfect.  Had to drill holes in the lugs, as they were spade type, but a nice click to it that stays open when depressed.
