Just finished boxing this today...a fun build. M60691 hfe = 114/116

I was curious if there are any germaniums I could pull this off with?

like a normal silicon Fuzz Face...

The only germ I found to do this was a Raytheon CK901, but the last one went for over $40 on eBay!

...so I presume by the lack of responses, dual germs are insanely rare, especially ones that would have gains good for a fuzz

Parts Express had 'em on sale when over 99 shipped free, the Eminence Legend 10'' speaker made it easy to get the shop-cart-amount right to continue, a fine speaker/purchase.
Quite a load of alternative devices could be had for the 40 perGe option.
Not to dog on Ge's..lol..but the challenges they present aren't necessarily worth the results...Si FF's are easier and present a preferrable set of compromises in important ways.

that's funny...since I'm more from a music collecting background, I actually thought you meant a 10" vinyl by a band called Legend.

sounds cool...thanx, yes read that and a bunch of other FF articles over the years. For me, the GE FF is easy to get right, especially when you have a good selection of trans to choose from....and for me, sounds far better than the silicon ones.

I didn't really know of the Fuzzface until I visited.
That GEO article is real humdinger from..pretty much all FF aspects, but if ye can't getcher transistors then it's not so enterprizin' or bang for bukky.
I haven't really been using the Ge FF's..and don't know how you're usin' it..that's quite a lot of unknown variables to discuss the likes/dislikes.
