AMZ Mosfet booster Vero layout ??

Has this vero layout been verified to be working 100% !

Cause i built one and i can't get it to work properly , it sounds crisp & clean in by pass
but when you turn on the pedal it goes quiet & looses gain , i have use all the right
parts to the best of my knowledge , the only part that was different was the gain pot ,
it calls for a 5k linear , but i'm using a 5k log , not sure if that may be an issue ?

Also , i checked my voltage at the Drain of the BS170 , and it showed 4.05 volts ?
is that low ?

That layout works.  Have built several.  The pot is fine.  Socket the transistor and make sure its the right orientation.

i have looked at several layouts to make sure they are showing the same orientation as my layout is , and checks out
correct , i replaced the BS170 with another just to see if that made any difference , but still no dice !


4.05 v/dc at the drain , is that a bit low , would that be it by chance ?
I have check over all my solders , and components , off board wiring
etc ....i'm stumped

Early this A.M i got a PM sent from me from Jack Orman on the problem with this build ....

His instructions were to reinstall the mosfet in the oposite order , so i warmed up my
iron this morning and gave it a shot , and sure enought if he wasn't spot on with his
tech. tip , it now works 100 % !!!    And on top of that is sounds pretty good !!
