I have looked over the search boards and I cannot seem to find anyone who will champion a single tone control for the "tonestack-less" Dr. Boogie circuit. I found several alternatives (the SWTC comes to mind) but, I cannot find a solid review on ANY of them.

Does anyone have a verified, good working, forumite approved, single tone control for the Dr. Boogie?

Thanks Rob  ;D

I appreciate the link. I looked it over and I don't think it is for me.  :icon_cry:

I really want to use parts I have on hand. It looks like the trimmers that Scruffie layed out are the vertical mount kind. I only have the horizontal/flat-laying type  :icon_cry:

Don't want to sound picky but, I really want to try to use what I have right now. I would like to use the gaussmarkov "tonestackless" layout and just implement a single tone control. I mentioned the SWTC as I have seen this incorporated already BUT, there is no solid reviews on it or any other single knob tonestack project with this circuit.

anyway it's talking about SWTC and other thing, still not sure anybody there reported a "solid review"... you could be the first  :)

Not sure if this helps but, check out the Visual Sound Jeckyll and Hyde schematic. It looks like the same tone stack, but with some different values. And only one pot for tone. Replacing the bass, and mid control with a fixed resistor value. This schematic can be found at the Other forum.

Well... i'd have to describe it as a Dr Boogey with a Big Muff Tone Control  :icon_mrgreen:

High Gain and simple enough, I just set the Tone Trimmer where I wanted it and forgot it, works nicely with the three way switch... It could probably use some refining on the breadboard but i'm happy with it... haven't had alot of time with it yet though, about the 5 minutes after I got it working.

The tone control I used in the Chaos was stolen/borrowed from the Ballz Booster by Alexandros Charissis.  It's an interesting one-knobber that goes from a scooped tone suitable for metal, to a rounder bluesier tone, at each extreme.  I can't speculate how much signal it east, relative to other tone-stacks, but it still leaves plenty of output for my tastes.
