Hey guys,

I'm a total noob to building pedals. But I thought I'd try my hand at it. What I'd like to do is basically build a double Tube Screamer (somewhat in the style of a Jeckyll and Hyde or King of Tone). I was thinking about buying the enclosure and putting 2 TS-808 clones in it. What I'm wondering is how would i make only 1 inout and output jack out of the 2 clone kits. Or, what is the best route to take in making this pedal. Like I said I don't know much so I was hoping for some advice. Thanks!

i would have both of them with separate footswitches and treat them as separate circuits in one enclosure off the power source
input jack goes to input of the first tubescreamer
output of the first tubescreamer goes to the input of the second
output of the second tubescreamer goes to the output jack

i would start simpler if this is your first build. get a BYOC or GGG kit and follow the instructions. then move on to more complicated stuff in the future.

You might want to price a Double Trouble before you dedicate a whole lot of time, money and energy to this. Just a thought. This is an awfully ambitious first project.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks for the input everyone. After seeing the advice I think it might be a good idea to start smaller at first. At least to get the hang of things. I'll keep you posted!
