Blend pot problems with my compressor design.

So I have this compressor that I want to use a blend control with to blend in some dry signal.
The compressor and clean side (which is basically a buffer) work just fine and they go into a summing op-amp.
If I control the "Mix" whith individual pots it works fine, but I would rather have a single pot to control how the two signals are blended.
When I do this, there is a big jump in signal level at each end of the pots range (when it goes full compression signal or full dry). It is a linear pot BTW.
This makes it very clunky to use.
I even tried a dual-gang pot so each side had it's own volume like control (one side at ground). It did exactly the same thing.
I'm not sure why this is or how to get around it.
Anyone use a pot as a blend like this?
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks guys.  I'm going to start playing around with the taper using a dual-gang and adding a resister in paralell.
So I guess i'm not doing anything wrong, it's just normal that even a linear taper is going to do this.
