Ok, so I got this thing dirt cheap. The odd little "Off switch" which isn't in any diagrams of the circuit I can see is slightly faulty. I guess it's for Turning off the battery power instead of a Stereo jack.

One: Could I potentially replace it with a DPDT and a diode for clipping? That would go about the same place as it would on the Bazz Fuss, right?
Three: any good mods for the thing?

If the swing potential exceeds the diode threshold, clipping should occur.
GGG has bypass diagrams to check out, understanding the DPDT functions helps too.

Diodes might conduct across the C/B as in bazz fuss. See Electra or Lava Rim or Dist+ diode-to-ground configuration for hard clipping also.

 See GGG booster: LPB1.
It can probably be made to be LPB1 easily: when rewiring the input and output from the circuit board to the switch, splice in 'extra' caps. If they are the same values of the input and output capacitor, 2 of them in series = 1/2 the value. That'd be a good starting point for voicing, as the spliced in capacitor is further reduced in value: less LF's are let in, and let out of the circuit.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
