How do you trouble shoot something that already works?

I built a fuzz factory and it works great. The two exception are the drive and comp knobs, they completely silence the pedal at the very end of their travel, clockwise travel. All the knobs do what they are suppose to. I could take voltages and so forth but it works. Can someone give me some advise on how to approach this.

Ok, i did a little more research and the comp knob is supposed to "pinch tone" when all the way to the right, but  that doesn't explain why the drive is "pinching" when all the way to the right. Zvex's sight also seems to indicate the drive will pinch when the comp is "pinched" but it doesn't matter what the position of the comp, the drive will "pinch" when all the way to the right.

from the zvex sight

"COMPRESS:
Adds attack characteristic when turned to left, which gets softer to right, and suddenly pinches tone when all the way right. Also use to tune in fat feedbacky fuzz, if you're that kind. Lower the Stability and see what happens to this control.     DRIVE:
Increases distortion when used as a "normal" fuzz, and adjusts feedback pitch and tonal thickness, if you're that kind. This control becomes meaningless when Compress is all the way right. "

any advise would be appreciated
