grounding issues....

Speaking of 1/4" jacks...silly question perhaps: The jacks have the outer threaded ring, then a slightly wider ring further in, followed by the widest area of the jack that the washer would stop at.  Does that make sense?

Should that second section lip thing be sitting through the enclosure hole, or do you want that resting against the enclosure?  Does it matter?  Doesn't seem to if you ask me.

It seems like getting it all the way through might be a bit more secure? Since jacks don't usually have locking nuts.

 i dont see an issue with grounding as is , but yeah try it....might be more solid in the long run...
