Transformer suggestions for Real McTube?

All it specifies is 120v to 12v 0.5A transformers.  Can anyone suggest one?  I'd like it to be chassis mount.  I found this one at mouser, but it's kind of pricey:

Any alternate suggestions?

check out P-T442 at Antique Electronic Supply. Dont do the back to back configuration.  That is what I did......

That looks right.  So how did you hook up your power if you didn't do the back to back?  Just hook up the mains up to that second rectifier?  I'm  concerned about noise; I want this thing to be as quiet as possible.  If it is, I was planning on balancing the input with a transformer to use this as a mic pre.



edit: just noticed it has a 125v secondary AND a 12v secondary- that makes perfect sense now.

Another thought - this thing is connected to the mains, and therefore it feels like it should have a mains fuse to me.  I have no idea what value though... how would I determine that>

I,m using a 5a fuse, I thought it was a 3a though.  That,s all you need for a preamp imho....

Ok cool.  I had just planned on trying it with a 1A fuse, because that's what the Hotbox uses.  I figured the were kind of similar.
