Hi, first at all, i wanna introduce myself, I'm Carlos from Costa Rica (is a country, google it)

Now  my problem, In my country is very difficult (almost impossible) to find a 100k log pot, you can only get the 250k and 500k ones.

Also you can get 100k but linear.

My question is, can you use a 250k log pot instead of the 100k log pot.

Or, can you "mod" a 100k linear into a 100k log.

Thanks for your help

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

thank you

but to be clear, if i want a 100k log pot, i need to solder a 20k resistor between the center "pin" to any of the other two 2 "pins"

i just want to say thanks, and sorry my english level isn't huge, and google translator sucks :P

There are a few other tricks you can do with pots as shown in:

http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=91972.0

This shows the use of a linear pot to provide a non-linear amount of control suitable for a volume control (although it is not an audio or logarithmic taper).

In your original question, does the unit still work properly with a 250 K pot?  If so, use the 250 K log pot.
