Does anyone know how i can add an led to the channel select pedal of my blackstar ht-5. I would like the led to be on when on the gain channel.

Basically, you have to entirely rebuild the footswitch interface.

The switch itself is momentary so the footswitch chassis should hold somekind of an flip-flip circuit that changes state each time the switch is pushed. Basically, making such circuit is really not a big problem and can be pretty much copied from most, say, BOSS pedals.

A way bigger problem is that the two wires to the pedal do not carry any power supply or common. The do carry voltage but that is supplied by a very low current source that really can't sustain loading introduced by a LED or a flip-flop circuit. And both LED and flip flop would also need a wire to common. So you really should add two more extra wires that would feedg the pedal power from the amp, and naturally mod the footswitch connector and internal circuitry of the amp to support all this.

...OR alternatively, and IMO something which is way better idea, fit an internal battery inside the footswitch to supply the flip-flop circuit and the LED. The footswitch then just merely needs a DPDT momentary switch; one side of the switch to handle treating the channel switching logic signal, another to control the flip-flop circuit within the pedal. I believe the footswitch may actually already house the kind of switch you need since Blackstar has a habit of using those and leaving the unused side of the switch unconnected.
