Lunch button

hey guys, so the other day i received my Danelectro FAB Flanger and the thing to be honest is lovely,  i managed to get some sweet tones along with some weird tones, was thinking what does that LUNCH button on Airplane flanger do technically? is it possible to circuit bend the FAB to add that function as well??

And, um, that's a "takeoff" button, not "launch" OR "lunch".

I have been trying to add a lunch button to my circuit boxes for some time as well. I keep stomping it and the sound, idk it just cuts out when I stomp it, instead of releasing cold cuts. Helppp

may be you have a momentary cut switch?

anyways what is your switch supposed to do?

But seriously, folks, the "Takeoff" button on the Paul Gilbert/Ibanez Airplane Flanger does something very interesting.  As near as I can tell it does some sort of one-shot that sends the clock circuit into coniptions, resulting in what sounds like a big one-time pitch bend.

What I don't get is how it would have enough delay time to produce such a striking pîtch bend, yet at the same time achieve delays short enough to produce decent flanging.

Give it a listen, and let me know what you think.....and if you do it over lunch, fine.

haha, yeah Mark that's some weird thign going on in here. what i thought of as a take off button for my FAB was something like... a veery basic and easy idea, a stomp switch (probably momentary.. or may be not) that'd just dial in preset setting for the knobs. the debth and whatnot. cause like when i put the knobs at a particular setting the thing gives me something like that. (oh also may be mute the dry signal) so jsut a switch that'd engage those settings (bypassing the pots?) would be cool but wonder how the real deal works
