ok i was going to build a twin pedal but decide compression is a greater need in my life. I have been doing allot of infra web reading into the orange squeezer. Two questions keep coming up in my mind. One every one seems to agree that it's a neto pedal for bass but for the life of me i can't find a bass demo of it on the web if my life depend on it, and two, I have seen no external  knob, one knob external, and two external knob versions. i know that the second knob controls  the bias, which is kind of Greek to me but i get it. But is it all that needed. i mean is it a set it were it sounds good and you'll never need to touch it again thing. Or is it one of those once you try it you can't live with out it things.

The thing to do is breadboard it and decide what external controls you do or don't want, or if you like the effect at all.
Big Muff, Trotsky Drive, Little Angel, Valvecaster, Whisker Biscuit, Smash Drive, Green Ringer, Fuzz Face, Rangemaster, LPB1, Bazz Fuss/Buzz Box, Radioshack Fuzz, Blue Box, Fuzzrite, Tonepad Wah, EH Pulsar, NPN Tonebender, Torn's Peaker...

why i ask is the box comes pre drilled for one or none i could ask for two holes to be drilled or just do it my self when i am done. it's just easier to have them do it.

You said the magic words: compression and bass, that has me reaching for my Ovni Lab link. Just about every compression is reviewed here, from the perspective of being used by a bass. The link below is for the OS and has some useful thoughts on there that might help in your decision.
