GGG PCBs in a 1590B Enclosure

I bought a few PCBs from General Gtr Gadgets. Apparently their boards are designed to fit crossways in a 125 type enclosure, but I am trying to make them work in a 1590B type enclosure.

Has anyone done this? Any tips? I'm trying to get a 3PDT, 2-4 pots, DC jack, 1/4" jacks, and LEDs in here (no batteries...).

The width of a standard 1590B box appears to be 55 to 56mm. Going by that.... and the measurements of the GGG pcb transfers that are on JD's site, I think all 3 of those boards could fit into a 1590B  ;)

You may have to do some filing or cutting to "squeeze" then into the enclosure however, it looks totally do-able  ;D

Side-mounted input/output jacks & DC/adaptor with a 1590B.

Top-loaded input/output jacks & DC adaptor will fit/work with a 125 enclosure...on a Hammond 1590B they compete with the potentiometers for adequate spacing/clearance.

The side-mounted input/output jack wiring also forces you to maintain some PCB clearance. Velcro may be better suited than nylon stand-offs to secure the board to the enclosure.

I use this format for both 1590B and 125B enclosures. I use 3M double-sided foam tape to secure the board to the tops of enclosed In/Out jacks. Works like a champ for me  ;)

Just need to be aware of the component height(s) when mounting the board this way.

Thanks!

Anyone got any photos?

I thought about the cutting filing approach, but would rather not if I don't have to.

The velcro idea is good, but may conflict with my LEDs if it's unermounted like that.

S'pose I could foam tae it to the back of the pots....
