Are 1 Amp relays alright for stompbox use?

Hi Guys,
Somewhere I remember reading that 1Amp relays aren't really appropriate for use in stompboxes but I can't seem to find mA ones.  Also I see stompbox based parts suppliers like small bear and banzai electronics only having 1Amp relays. If I should only use mAmp ones do you know where I can find them? Thanks in advance!

I think what you're looking for is small switching signal relays as opposed to power relays; relays aren't really separated into Amp and mAmp categories.  The contacts materials for each kind of relay are different because switching a signal is different than switching large amounts of power.  The Omron G5V series of relays are what I use in my amps.  Small, DIP package, and somewhat affordable.

Ahhh, that makes sense.  I'm looking into them now.  Thanks!

+1 on the omron. Much more suitable. Surprisingly easy to get working without popping.

Mains relays will not make any effort to avoid bleed across either.
