3 Knob Tonebender Ge diode question

Howdy,

I've not built anything in the last few years, and have decided to get back into it.... my current project is the 3 Knob Tonebender. Question is, what Ge diode to use. Any suggestions? Thanks.

wichever you find in your partsbin..possibly even the base/emitter-junction on a leaky or to-low-hfe-to-use-in-a-fuzzface GE-transistor
