I preserved the fuzz and the switching but i noticed a delay when i turn it on.split second silence before the wah engage.

joegagan

can you post pictures of the inside? and the original pot? i can make up something custom if needed.

Whipple Wah in an old Frontline Volume pedal. Sort of thrown together at the moment to see if I like it or needed to mod it, so I'll probably do a proper job at a later date. Standard 100k pot 'cos of the non-Crybaby setup. I really like the 'vocal' mod as it allows me to tone it down a bit when I'm not using a distortion after it

The throw on this thing is massive !! I used it as a volume pedal for years so I was used to the feel of it, but as a Wah it's so much different to a Crybaby type set up.

Sounds lurrrrvley.

I am posting this photo to this thread in hope someone that has posted on here will see it and be able to help I am looking to find 2 .22 caps like the smaller .01 caps on here. I wan to get rid of the big grey box caps and make it period correct if anyone knows where I can get them please let me know! Thanks

Liquitone

I have looked at a lot of the earlier Italian wah boards ( to try and put a date on a late '60 early '70 Jen CryBaby I had in the workshop, and it looks like they used anything they had at hand in these,
so I think these are in fact period correct. But I can see why you would want to put .22's similar to the .01's in here.

I guess if I can't get the caps I will put a 9v adapter board on build it true bypass ic buffer out w off switch range control and probably change out the elecs but I will save them so I can undo almost all if I choose to sell it down the road.

the thomas caps are most likely polyester film and foil. some of the wah guys i respect tell me they really do make a difference in the tone. i haven't done any real testing myself so i can't say. but they sure look cool.

There is a company that puts out "aged" poly caps, they're somewhat similar in shape, axial, and yellow.

@disabled_shredder
Here's a link that might help. I didn't see any .22 caps like this but they maybe able to help you if you ask.

I do have some .22 caps but they are just a little to big to fit but the look identical to the one's in the Thomas organ wah's.
