Quick questions about building a "volume box" to use in my amp's FX loop

I'm going to build one of those simple FX loop boxes that will allow me to switch between two master volume levels.  I'll be using an audio taper pot.

Two questions:

1. What pot value is best?  100k?  250k?  500k?

2. What is a good value to use for a "treble bleed" cap for the volume box?

Thanks!

I think you might need to do a little trial and error on this one, I've seen volume controls in amps go all the way up to 4 Meg, personally I like 250K or 500K depending on the amp.  Silver mica caps aren't very expensive, you might try buying a bunch.  From memory, I think a popular value is 330pF, I don't really care for them so I usually just clip them off.

Sorry I can't be of much help on this one with the given parameters.  It might help if you told us what kind of amp it is and what kind of sound you are going for.
