I need one like the standard blue 3PDT ones, but a momentary one. Does such a thing exist?

Momentary 1 pole and a 3P relay.

Actually, yes, 3PDT with one side momentary is made. Finding one will be an interesting problem. It depends on whether the place decided to take a chance on switch stock. Depending on the pricing, it may be cheaper to use the one-pole and a miniature relay. Check the prices for the alternate solution.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Full momentary 3PDT switch available HERE (reliable Dutch webshop, no clue if they ship abroad). Expensive little bugger though.

Ha ha, OK great Steve. Will keep you in mind in the future.

The difference between momentary and latching stompswitches is simply the curvature of the rocker contacts inside.  I accidentally bought some momentary DPDTs a few years ago, and decided to looks inside.  All I had to do was bend the rocker contacts a bit, and I was able to turn them into fully-functioning (and reliably, too) latching DPDTs.

What this means is that:

a) if it can be a latchng stompswitch, it can also be a momentary, as Steve has so amply demonstrated,

b) if you have a bit of courage, and are desperately in need of the one kind but only have the other, you can pop the thing open, do the "sex-change surgery", and be in business; you'll need an example of the other kind, of course, to see exactly how to bend the contacts.

If you are less courageous, Steve has kindly come to your rescue.
