regarding this ..........
http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/tom/files/bossCE1.jpg

and assuming its correct....

i was hoping to give it a go,
i know a lot of you are saying,  go make the ce2 at tonepad, or go buy retro sonic version...
ive made the ce2 with stereo mods etc etc and love it, just wanted to give the ce1 ago and compare. i know the ce1 input is suited to keyboards etc, but my main question is....
i need a little help in omitting parts for true bypass,  ive got the power supply worked out, , its just if i remove the flip flop parts etc q3,q4,q5,q6 mn3002 still needs to be connected ??? to chorus/vibrato switch etc.
can anyone give a little help in the right direction?
or does anyone have an already modified schematic to work from?
cheers in advance

Q3, 4, 5, 6 make the VCO clock for MN, if you remove'em then no clock no party  :icon_lol:
No flip-flop switching here, just a switch enabling or disabling FETs Q11, 13

I don't know if it will be suitable for guitar though
too much low input impedance, too much low out impedance and an idiotic mixing solution...
its character is mainly dictated by MN3002 512stages BBD almost unavailable...

IMO too much debug for a boss unit
"NOT FLAMMABLE" is not a challenge

yes just after posting i noticed  what you said,
it just looked liked a flip flop !
smallbear still stocking the bbd chip

You know what?  The BBD is nothing special.  Indeed, much of the entire audio path is nothing particular special.  And the clock generator  is far more trouble than it's worth.

So why do people like it?  Easy.  The LFO/modulation section.  Why don't we simply whip up a daughter board with the CE-1 LFO section for vibrato and chorus, and connect that to an MN3101 or 3102?

sounds a good idea.

Why do i want to give it a go?
firstly, never played a ce1
I like the challenge of putting something together on a breadboard, then comparing it with the ce2 i made,
ive never built from a schematic something this big without easy layout or advice . So it forces me to research a little more and learn!
I guess Mark, you have already "crossed" the river, and with the knowledge you have you are able to comment accordingly, and im sure your right on the money,
I feel i still need to learn what you have already learnt , even though i have been given the answer before attempting! :)
Ive noticed by reading your responses  around the web, you also have a close friend who is making a related retail product, Im not here to
make future competition. Although his pedal is popular, so i feel its worth giving it a go and making my own mind up.
I've printed out all the old data sheets i could find, but what would help is...
whats the best way of finding substitute transistors?
is there a well known website, you go to and type in the one you need and it pops up a current alternative? or do i need to literally read through many data sheets to find comparable my self? ???

what ive noticed on forums, is a lot of people like the ce1, but everyone discourages to give it a go.
the only place i could find a group giving it a go  was on a spanish website, (but without the answers i was after!)
