Boss TR-2 Rate Mod affecting volume/depth?

I have a newer pcb version of the Boss TR-2, it has a trimpot for R9 (not the 10K resistor) which has control on the effect volume.
I lowered R31 (56K) to 33K to increase the rate to get a stuttering type effect...
then tweaked the R9 trimpot just a touch above unity gain (audibly) when the depth is set to minimal, as in my setup i noticed i slight volume dip when the trem is engaged.

The trem now sounds good at most rate settings in my setup with just a clean guitar tone, there is a percieved slight boost on lower rate setting and at higher rates it sounds like its near unity gain, but i can hear a slight loss of depth of tremolo when the rate is approaching max (the last 10% - 20% of the rate pot).

I use a Bigmuff and a custom overdrive before the tremolo, and with either or both engaged i get more of a boost (which is understnadable and OK with me) with the trem engaged at lower rate setting and when the rate is increased it approachs more unity gain yet at the same time the "depth" of the trem starts to dissappear such that i need to increase it to near max. to hear the trem effect (i usually leave the depth at 2 to 3 o'clock).

Does anyone know if the modification to R31 affects the depth of the trem effect? I didn't really notice this when the pedal is stock with 56K for R31... To possibly regain the depth at higher rates, I'm thinking about increasing R31 to 47K as 33K also increases the rate just abit too much where the last 10% of the pot has a rate thats just too intense (though interesting) to be usable for me.   Or should I consider reducing R19 from 10K to say 4.7K or 5.6K to increase the depth, but i heard this can affect the waveform which i'd rather leave stock and could make lower rate settings too intense.

Reduce C4.

thanks, i'll look into doing that... ironically my first mod of this pedal was removing C4 from the circuit.  this is the common mod found to do on this pedal to supposedly help the volume drop, but i found that i didn't hear much of any difference and thus put it in storage... i recently was thinking about selling this pedal but thought i'd give another shot at some different mods as mentioned above, and i re-soldered the stock C4 (.1 uF)...

I've read that reducing it to .047uF is recommended, so i may start there...

anyways, i'm pretty sure now that this is worthy to keep in my chain, i just would like to "fine tune" it some more.

i've also have thought about replacing the 10K trimpot with a 10K vol. pot mounted to the side of the enclosure to allow more versatility volume-wise and to have the ability to use this pedal as a mild clean boost.  adding a dpdt or similar switch to toggle between different rates (like 47K for fast and 68K for slow for R31) has also come to mind.  though i'm leaning to keeping the enclosure as stock looking as possible...
