What kind of buffer? Switch box

I am building a buffered switch box for my pedalboard. It will allow me to switch between using my pedals straight into the front of one of my amps and using an effects loop with my other amp.

I see on Beavis's site there a few different buffers to choose from.
Seeing how's these buffers will be at the front and back of my pedalboard, what are your experiences with buffers?
Which ones do you like and which ones would you stay away from. Idc if it lightly colors my tone so long as it works at keeping my signal from loosing it's high end fromthe long cable runs.

YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT LARGE PEDALBOARDS....

.... I BET YOU WISH YOUR PEDALBOARD WAS AS LARGE AS MINE

Some sim/circuits of mine they are in the Gallery

There are many ways to build a buffer.  JFET, BJT, MOSFET, opamp, tube and combinations.
What matters
Input resistance wanted
output resistance and drive
power supply voltage
size of the box
money you want to spend
etc.

Maybe I should just stick with a simple op amp buffer after all? Is there a type of op amp best suited to buffers for guitar? I think all my pickups are 12k and below resistance.

I would use a JFET input opamp if you want to use an opamp.
Input C2 R6 node  parts to the left are a guitar cable sim.  Textbook circuit R4 protects the opamp input.  R5 is for stability.  Adjust C2 and R3 to taste.  I used a LT1056 because it is in the LT spice program.
