looking to buy a reasonably priced solder station?

ive been looking around on ebay at solder stations...my cheap old soldering iron gave up on me last night... :icon_rolleyes:

i want one that is reasonanbly priced, and has reasonably priced replacement tips available.........

any recommendations?.i was looking at these...

what do you think?...good price it seems, anyone got one of those?...i like the idea of the bottom one with on/off switch.....cheers rob.



edit:  nevermind, i just bought the top one, and got the guy to throw in 3 spare tips for free......through a bit of haggling...ha ha... :icon_mrgreen:

i bought a similar 20 US dollar unit, i have to crank the heat WAY up but it works. will let you know how well the tip holds up. also , cheap soldering irons seem to fail internally a lot as well.

i made sure they did spare tips first!...don't want to be left with a dust collector and wangled 3 spares out of him,.. :icon_mrgreen:


i had to get a new one anyway, mine was old n shit...and it finally died last night so.....

i'm looking forward to getting it...sad eh?..but new toys n all that... ;)

I have the same iron. Looks like Parts Express still has tips. :)

I got mine when they first released it and it was $15!
