Hey, I'm trying to add an extra volume control to my overdrive (on for each gain channel – 2 gain channels)
The Circuit is much like a tube-screamer, so the switching between the gain pots is by switching between the output lug's of the pots (2x100k pot). It uses a DPDT switch (an LED turns on when switching on channel 2).
Could I just replace the switch with a 3PDT switch an switch between output lug's of the volume pots as well? Much like this (THANKS to "frequencycentral" for the diagram):

Should I double the ohms for both volume pots from the standard (5k std. would be 10k for 2 pots)?
Or doesn't it matter (just adding a 5k I parallel)? What would the result be? Less range?

Thanks for the help :)

(EDIT: fixing the picture)

Yes.

Use what you got handy. An "exact" answer needs more data, the usual problem is more distortion, but is sussposed to distort, so what's the problem?
