EL wire / strip for border or lighted knobs or???

I just bought a strip off ebay to backlite my laptop keyboard..and this thing is really cool!

Im thinking of backlit controls or words...like "volume"..it could be etched out of the top and then backlit with the strip.

The transformer is no bigger than a 9 volt, actually a little smaller I think...

Hmm..well, I do have some pcb's to turn into pedals, so I think I'll try this out.

I also thought of an el strip border, but now on the front page theres that piece you can buy for an led border..dang!
