why use a resistor on a 3PDT switch?

I see some people use a resister to link the input/output poles on 3PDT switch, rather then just a jumper......why?  ???

Is it a 0Ω resistor?

If it has one black stripe, it's just a wire in a resistor package.

carboncomp

 :D you can get  0Ω resistor?  :D

Yes they have a black line........ what is the use of a wire in a resistor package.....I must be missing something!

so this is a 0v PSU

0 ohm resistors can be placed by machines. If you have a manufacturing machine that places resistors, a 0 ohm jumper would also be able to be placed by the machine, whereas a wire/jumper may not. Some people use them in their pedals, because they like the way they look. No functional difference (that I'm aware of).
If it ain't broke...   ...it will be soon.

Because it gives pedal buildes an opportunity to market it as a rare NOS zero ohm resistor with magical tonal properties. :icon_mrgreen:

ayayay!

I use them on all my builds.  It's very practical.  That way I have an insulated piece of material that doesn't touch the center lug.  :)  Saves time is all, for me.

I wonder, would using a 1 or 2 ohm resistor do any harm?

Harm = signal loss?  Technically, yes.  Realistically, no.  Unless you have bionic ears.

I say the big question is if you should pay the premium and go for a 1% resistor or save some money and use a 10% one? ;D
