Vibro Trem Pedal

I have this peculiar pedal here a friend of mine gave me.  I have had no luck trying to fix it.  No clue who made it or what it's based off of, but it says Vibro Trem on it (will post pic later), and has an on/off footswitch, an effect footswitch, a depth rotary switch, a speed knob, and a Vibrato style switch.

It has a nte555m chip in it, and a nte960 transistor, and a nte460 transistor, a couple caps, resistors, not too much in there.

When I plug into it, it turns on and the trem works at one speed, but the speed and depth controls do nothing, the effect switch just makes the sound muddy, like turning the tone off on the guitar.  Another odd thing, if you plug in the guitar and amp backwards, it still does the same thing!

1-any ideas what this is? ie, who made it?

2-any idea how to fix it?

I initially wanted to say it's a DIY pedal...I can't find any info.

since there's so few parts, the best thing to do would be to breadboard it and see what you get. funny, it looks like there's more caps/resistors off board than on

If this turn out to be unknown, a shot of the back would help someone trace it...along with the values of the few parts or closeups.

It could be a fun build...

always think outside the box

Definitely looks pretty DIY.

My guess - 555 creates an LFO, different caps lowpass filter the square LFO for a faux-triangle wave. LFO goes to JFET which acts like a variable resistor to ground. It can work in either direction because there's no buffering.

The 5 volt regulator is a little perplexing though...

As far as a build I don't see it doing anything the usual simple trems (EA...) can't with about the same number of parts.

A curious little find!  Hope you get it working.
I made the transistor angry.

is that a snapped off toggle above the right stomp switch?....can't really see it properly..

Those are some unique looking knobs on that thing. Love to know where they got those.

They look a lot like Davis 2310 knob

Can be had at mouser, etc.
