also, if you have any conductive foam from past ic purchases and some tin foil or whatever laying around for a sandwich it's worth playing with for a quick and dirty variable resistance input to filter/noise circuits. check foam with multimeter for proxmity and compression variances. maybe mount in a door hinge for foot control? (you could vary resistance between hinged contacts with layers of foam, replace/dispose of 'spent foam' layers, etc...)
