I am building a pedal for a customer who has some physical disabilities. He uses his hands to quickly switch on pedals while he plays the guitar in his lap. The "regular" 3pdt footswitches most of use might be a little too hard for him to depress quickly and accurately by hand.

Does anyone know of a pushbutton-type switch that it 3pdt? I quickly searched in Mammoth and Small Bear and couldn't find one...

i don't know if these would work for you physically, require different holes and mounting than a round hole stompswitch, but they actuate very easily. i can send these to you for $4 each plus a dollar postage.

(it's a 4pdt, ignore the fourth set of lugs)

my life is a tribute to the the great men and women who held this country together when the world was in trouble. my debt cannot be repaid, but i will do my best.

Thank you, but I don't think it'll work for him. Thanks for the idea!

What he needs can be cobbled from available parts. I'll suggest one way, starting with a 4PDT latching tactile switch:

If just a small button on top is enough, all you need is a cap:

or maybe you can use an actuator:

to cobble a "soft-touch" latching switch. Could be hand or foot...

I can think of other possibilities...maybe make a large button from a bottle cap and Bondo to the switch cap. I hope I have given you enough to start.

How about large arcade momentary pushbutton to control CMOS switching?

Never got around to buying relays, but Hides-His-Eyes had some good info on using them with momentary switches:

I'm also pretty sure R.G. has an article on Geofex explaining relay switching (and IC switching)
