What are best Jfets for reducing gain / noise+hum, also is it best that the first 4 are matched?( eg: would 2n5452 work because I can buy 4x matched)

Just use 2n5457 not as much gain as the 201's but also a tighter sound.
But that's just mho.

They don't need to be matched either.
