A friend of mine bought a pedal from me. He's too far away for it to be feasible to send the pedal back for me to replace the footswitch, so here's what he said. The pedal is a madbean layout OCD clone (egodriver).
"The foot-switch seems to have a faulty connection or something. it's like when you have a bad tone pot and when you turn it, it makes a crackling or static noise. it changes depending on the velocity of the switching. i barely heard it under the speakers, but thought i heard something. Then i just tested the switch and found what triggered the problem."

I've never really heard of this issue. Anyone have any ideas? This shouldn't be happening, right?
Thanks so much for the help.

I've never really heard of this issue.
What is 'this' ? It sounds fairly common:
Cold solder on the switch got colder/partially open after a number of switchings 'hammered' on it.
A bad switch, or one lug swhich managed to conduct enough heat into the switch-innards while soldering to bake or misalign a contact.
Pedals have issues all the time...finding out what each one is requires individual attention to that pedal.
Not to say the custormer info isn't relevant or accurate and may be a point in the exact direction of the issue, it is not a complete debug or ID of a problem in any case, until it is found/fixed it could be this or that.
