Etching Steel chassis

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had tried ething steel chassis such as the hammond 1441?

was thinking this may work?

That's where I'd start.  Electrolytic etching is what I have seen for doing this type of etching with steel.  I've done similar stuff at work with different materials using a 9v battery.  Crude, but it worked.  Grab some scrap steel and try.
