something in the circuit may be done incorrectly...could you post a picture of what you got?  the circuit board and all the wiring would be helpful

Main.Ace.FX

looks like you connected the sleeves together properly to 9v(+), now you need to connect that to the ground on the circuit, marked GND...looks like it's next to the input....since they are both in the same area, make sure you didn't do it backwards

Yes i noticed that, the ground slot is empty now  :D
Should i wire it from the same spot where i wired the +9v?

run a wire from the ground slot to the connection of the two sleeves and the 9v(+)...that will connect all of the grounds together

Sorry for the late answer, i hadnt the time to rewire it,

I did just as you told but it didnt work. No sound coming out from the amp.

deadastronaut

still not working?... :(

your pnp's are in the wrong way round....if you look at the pcb layout the emmiter is on the bottom..

a nooby error...weve all done it.. ;)....its best to socket them so you can remedy this easy, and for trying other types too...

Wow man thanks for that point :D
I actually was afraid of the pnp's, but i forgot all about that when i started to struggle with the offboards...

Could you take a look at this schematic and tell me where i have to solder the emitter? Or do i have to re-solder the pnp's just in the opposite direction?

deadastronaut

yep!...opposite...you should be good to go.. ;)

socket them if you can....

Ah sorry, but... the emitter is already soldered at the bottom?
Should i still try to turn them around?

deadastronaut

look at this diagram of npn's and pnp's....

http://solderslingers.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=49

see the difference?..

what pnp's are you using btw?....

It's supposed to be ger pnp's but, i found just some old pnp which i dont know of what they were made of.
Some capacitors were also not exactly the same, for instance, i had to replace a 0.01pf capacitor with a 0.1 capacitor. It's hard to find such parts for me.

Could this circuit still work with a slightly different sound?

deadastronaut

hmmm   most likely be ok , just fatter i guess.....whats the number on your trannies (pnp's)..just curious..

I dont know much about e-parts but, on the flat side of it, it says
"BC
307 B
C B E"

And on the back it has 3 color strips, downwards, white, violet, yellow.
Thats all i can tell

btw C1 AND C3 should be electrolytic caps...?

http://tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=86

electrolyc cap? I dont know what they look like, but c1 and c3 on my circuit definitely doesnt look the same.
If by electrolytic cap you mean a cylinder shaped cap, nope, one of my cap there is a lentil-like (brown, left-most) and the other is fat but small cube shaped (orange right-most).

And if it has to be a electrolytic cap, its pretty hard for me to find such cap thats <47pF, what if i use that kind of caps?

deadastronaut

you want 2 x  4.7 uf's...the can type ones with a positive and negative for this.... not pf's...(lentils..that made me laugh.. :icon_mrgreen:)
