Smallbear Caps

I can't find any caps labeled with uF...is that normal? or do they use a different lettering scheme?

"µ" (greek letter micron) is now preferred, and usually spelled "u".

I remember, not so many decades age, when most US technicians and documentation spelled it "m" for "micro".

SmallBear's "Capacitor, Panasonic ECQ-B .082 mf (50V)" IS 0.082 µFd in modern terms.

I"m pretty sure you'll need to know:

uF = micro-farads = 10^-6, once and sometimes "mf" or "mF"
nF = nano-farads = 10^-9 Farads, 1/1000th of a uF
pF = pico-farads = 10^-12 Farads, 1/1000ht of a nF, and 1/1,000,000th of a uF; sometimes written as just "p", as in "220p"

1000pF = 1nF = 0.001uF
