Hello everybody,

I've been doing electronics projects lately, and I found this wonderful site with tons of information. I decided to try the Dr. Boogie, but with a SMD twist. I figured I'd share what I've done and see if you can find any problems with the build.

First, I went with the PDF here - http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=44055

I noticed there were two PDFs, this and one with tone control, so I figured I should go with this one since it had a later date. My schematic follows it pretty closely (if not right on).

The board itself is 2.25" x 1.6", which is about the same size as the board in the pdf.

I1 / I2 are input/output connections, which will be mounted off board. R6/R16 are volume pot/gain pot connections, which will also be mounted off board.

If you have any questions or any input, I'd love to hear it. I'm also thinking about making a monster box with multiple effects inside. If you would like to recommend any other DIY boxes, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks to everybody involved with the creation/modification of the Dr. Boogie project.

looks cool:  have you any soundclips of it so far?...

ive built a few dr boogies, great pedal, but if i built another i would most probably change the tonestack.  imo.

I haven't had the board sent off yet, just in case I wanted a couple more things made. The overhead of making the current board is 2x the actual cost of the board in sq inches. I will definitely report back when I get the thing made.

On a side note, I plan on using film caps (most PPS). I would eventually like to see the difference between film and the ceramic counterparts. If the ceramic's sound good enough, it would probably take close to $10 off the project.

Do you mean remove the tonestack? If so, I'm using the schematic that has it removed.
