Clearly import as a image , not a PDF .
You can downsize the image by going into the project and editing the height and width of the project .

i used 'print screen key' then open a graphics prog and choose paste as new image...crop...save.....(from the virtual clipboard..).  ;)

theres a program called mwsnap that lets you take a pic of whatever section of the screen gives you a chubby.

yeah I do that and I paste into GIMP. its a free image editing program for windows, mac, and linux. its important to switch to indexed color mode with maybe 32 colors then save as a gif. this makes file size go from 500k to 40k without any quality loss.
