I want to build the Chopped OC-2 into a bass

Im wondering if there are any mods I should make to the circuit knowing the input will be direct from pickup, not somewhere in a chain. Like leaving the buffer amp in, or maybe introducing a (necessarily) simple compressor first. I plan on stringing the bass A-C, and I expect to use the effect gingerly(i get along with the boss) so Im not as concerned about improving the tracking as preserving the sound quality and keeping it condensed.
Also, I apologize right off if my terminology gets screwy. Im not an electronics guy, just a bassist, and that's why Im here. Any input is appreciated, but Im definitely going off the oc-2.
Cheers- B

I am a bass player too and happily use the chopped in the last months...
gee the chopped is not the tiniest board around! Do you think you have enough room!? I have mine in a box, and I'd suggest you to do the same...I have a small fet booster wheter I need some extra fuel, mainly I use the direct signal always on (it gets some clean boost) and tweak the octave when I need it.
another thing, I don't know how much current it sucks, but I guess not as a simple booster...keep that in consideration too!
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!
