I recently built a bluebox clone from the tonepad site...the box works but the blend control does nothing..I pull.Q 2 and Q 3 from the sockets and there is no change....something is wrong with that part of the circuit...I have swapped the transistors and they are fine....also have traced the circuit and cant find any mistakes.(yet)...when you open up the volume control on the guitar it maxes out .before the knob even gets to 1.....when I stop playing there is a loud motorboating sort of noise...hard to describe...no octave effect..just sounds like a distortion box....anybody had a problem like this???

Hey lonewolf,

Definitely abnormal behaviour.  Not supposed to act like that.  I would start with the standard fault diagnosing stuff.  If it's wired up inside a box, cut it out of the box and test it externally to simplify problem solving.  If your new to this stuff and need a more indepth explanation of "standard fault diagnosing stuff" watch this video (my video):

Thats where i would start.

Hope it helps and GL
